Alistair Taylor-Spry Appointed Associate at McConachie Stedman

McConachie Stedman is pleased to announce the appointment of Alistair Taylor-Spry to Associate, effective 1 July 2026.

Since joining the firm in 2025, Alistair has made a significant contribution to our audit team, consistently demonstrating strong technical capability, leadership and a genuine commitment to both clients and colleagues. His appointment reflects both his impact to date and the important role he will continue to play in the firm’s growth.

Audit Director Ben Horner said “Our audit team continues to grow and as part of the strategy to support that growth, it is important that we have multiple audit engagement leaders. Since joining us in March 2025 and relocating from Adelaide, Alistair has consistently demonstrated strong capability and leadership. I'm excited to have him join me in leading the audit team into the future.”

Alistair is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and brings over 10 years of experience in external audit. His background spans not-for-profit organisations, private companies and public companies, giving him a well-rounded and practical perspective across a wide range of client needs.

Alistair’s industry experience includes agribusiness, education, aged care and retirement living, disability care, construction and engineering, hotels, manufacturing and sporting organisations. This breadth allows him to quickly understand the unique challenges faced by different sectors and tailor his advice accordingly.

Alistair is technically proficient in Australian Accounting Standards, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, compliance and regulatory requirements. He has extensive experience evaluating internal controls and business processes, identifying key risks and providing practical, value-adding recommendations that support long-term improvement.

Alistair’s appointment comes at an exciting time for McConachie Stedman as we continue to grow our audit capability and invest in our people. With his leadership, experience and client-first approach, he will continue to play a key role in shaping the future of our audit team.
